My family and I have been visiting The Rock Church Coffee Bar in Bideford for several months now. Over these months we have become good friends with Pete and Brioney. As new Christians we have been greatly encouraged by the friendship that we always receive there. My children and I have been greatly helped over the months.
The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly and the decor is stylish and comfortable. I am always impressed by how many passers-by come into the cafe for coffee or a meal, and through doing so are able to read scripture on the walls, or listen to Christian Radio.
Pete and Brioney always make everyone feel welcome and I've seen people really affected by their kindness. This alone is a great witness, but in addition, Pete is always keen to engage customers in conversation.
Since opening we have had people from all around the world visit the coffee bar and have received great comments!

Since meeting Peter & Brioney 2 years ago when I was very stressed, and depressed, due to family circumstances, and with no trust in religion, I was befriended by these new-found friends and have now turned to the Lord and become a Christian. They have treated me like their own family and helped me to come to terms with my personal problems. I am particularly grateful for this, now that I have been diagnosed with Lymphoma, and find their support invaluable. God Bless all of you.
I want to thank you for helping so many people in Bideford. You have provided free food and drinks for some people who have needed a listening ear and help including the homeless and helpless ones. Your Cafe has been a shinning light. You both have worked so hard and did it without reward or pay. Your Cafe has helped disabled people who have come in and homeschooling families as a meeting place and have now added Sunday meetings to your opening times with music and teaching and friendship. Thank you for being a support to my wife and me and praying for us all and being there through everything and for the time you collected money for the Haven project in Thailand at the Cafe to help those in need.
"A bitterly cold Saturday morning was made memorable by our experience here. What was so special? Lets face it any so called Barista can produce milky coffee (aka Latte) but it takes real skill to transform it into something really special. A really good espresso base; micro-foamed milk with bubbles that can barely be seen and just the right temperature. Sounds easy-it ain't! This was perfection in a cup. With quirky but comfortable surroundings and very helpful staff this place is hard to beat. I believe that this may be a family business and if it was the owner who I spoke with when leaving I wish you every success. On this showing it will be well deserved."

"What a great cafe! Walk up High Street and turn left towards the market. Church runs cafe, staffed by volunteers, shabby chic decor, old fashioned games available to play if you like. But the cheapest cafe in town for what you get. Our second visit this week, and we will be going back soon. Two drinks and a light lunch each, under £9! Chilli nachos with cheese, jalapeño, chillis, sour cream and salsa just £2.60, and cheesy scrambled eggs with ham on toast not much more. Range of cakes, hot and cold drinks. Try "The Works" hot chocolate, it's well named. Friendly staff too, no rush to turn the tables over. It will get popular, and it deserves to."
"I visited here last week with my husband. It was a very pleasant experience. The waitress was lovely, the beverages were very nice, I loved the quirky decor and the lovely atmosphere. We will definitely visit again."
"We went to this cafe on a Saturday morning with our little baby boy in push chair. We found the owners to be welcoming and helped us in with the push chair (there were double doors so he opened the other one up). We ordered at the bar and service was prompt and with a smile. Great coffee (and I like my coffee!), and good food - we had a doughnut and a cinnamon bun. The atmosphere is good too - quirky artwork, nice sofas and generally a nice space. Yes, it's a 'church cafe' but to be honest it is a good place to go for a coffee and food with realistic prices too - A latte, fruit tea and two cakes came to £4.50."
